Call Forwarding Setup Across 8x8 Work Platforms

Overview
Call forwarding allows users to redirect incoming calls to another number or extension. This feature is useful when you're away from your desk, working remotely, or want calls to ring on a different device.
Prerequisites
- Active 8x8 Work license.
- Device (phone, app, or browser) registered and signed in.
- Destination number or extension ready.
Platform-Specific Instructions
YeaLink T46U / T48S Desk Phones
Access Call Forwarding Menu:
- Press Menu > Features > Call Forward.
Choose Forwarding Type:
- Always Forward – All calls are forwarded immediately.
- Busy Forward – Calls are forwarded when the line is busy.
- No Answer Forward – Calls are forwarded after a timeout.
Enter Destination Number:
- Input the number or extension to forward to.
Save Settings:
- Press Save to activate.
Tip: You can disable forwarding by returning to the same menu and clearing the destination number.
8x8 Work Desktop App (Windows/macOS)
- Open the 8x8 Work app.
- Click your profile icon (top right).
- Select Settings > Call Forwarding.
- Choose your forwarding rule:
- Always
- When Busy
- When Unanswered
- Enter the destination number.
- Click Save.
8x8 Work Mobile App (Android/iPhone)
- Launch the 8x8 Work app.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Go to Settings > Call Forwarding.
- Select the desired forwarding condition.
- Enter the forwarding number.
- Tap Save.
Note: Ensure the app has notification permissions enabled to receive forwarded calls if using softphone mode.
Web Portal (work.8x8.com)
- Log in to https://work.8x8.com.
- Click your profile icon > Settings.
- Navigate to Call Forwarding.
- Configure forwarding rules and destination.
- Save changes.
